Joseph Martinez, Owner

Joe Martinez is the quintessential American immigrant success story. He fled Castro’s Cuba in 1961 as a teenager to make a better life in the US. He began working in the industry in 1968 and by 1973 he was running a subsidiary of a Japanese company. He later went into business for himself, acquiring several companies and extending their success. This immigrant’s Horatio Alger story was topped off in 2004 when he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
